Catalog is a serial publication about cataloging, written by Lieven Lahaye and designed by Ott Metusala. Issue 22 is part of an ongoing sub-series of ‘Catalog’ on invisibility and explores the idea of ‘vesseling’. The publication features documentation of a performance at Chert Lüdde Books, cocktail recipes based on the Bartmannskrug’s history and the Trümmerfrau (rubble women) legend, as well as ‘Ending up’, a text by Lieven Lahaye. The performance by Kasia Fudakowski explores the idea of the Trümmerfrau figure as a vessel which is continually filled and emptied with different, conflicting political ideologies and compares it to the equally varied history-of-use of the traditional type of stoneware jug known as a Bartmannskrug.
