Looking back at a decade of activity of the project space Kinderhook & Caracas, this compendium showcases the work of the 83 Berlin-based artists whose practices have crossed paths through the small room on Kreuzbergstraße and several off-site projects around the city. Founded by artists Sol Calero and Christopher Kline in 2011 and named after their hometowns, Kinderhook & Caracas has focused on the in-depth production of solo exhibitions and unique group projects, developing an increasingly immersive approach over the years.

The book features an intricate graphic design by Santiago da Silva and Ana Cecilia Breña which reflects the space’s layered, organic approach to curating, offering a time capsule for a certain era of artist-led exhibition-making in Berlin. An introduction by John Holten and the collection of original exhibition texts contextualise the projects by offering tangential references, historical anecdotes, and a poetic approach to background research.

Featuring the work of:
Søren Aagaard, Ellinor Aurora Aasgaard, Özlem, Ali, Ella, Esra, Edo, Eniko Altın, Ana Alenso, ArchivOlares, Aurora Sander, Nigin Beck, Olga Balema, Bisagra, Kamilla Bischof, Body & English, Böhler & Orendt, Patrick Burkhardt, Andrea Canepa, Francesco Cavaliere, Sayuri Chetti, Joe Clark, Stephanie Comilang, Claudia Comte, Conglomerate, Eli Cortiñas, Sophie Erlund & Stephen Kent, Juan-Pedro Fabra Guemberena, Elise Florenty & Marcel Türkowsky, Anna Frost, Kasia Fudakowski, Jesse Garcia, Trevor Good, Monika Grabuschnigg, Pieterjan Grandry, The Gray Voice Ensemble, Petrit Halilaj & Alvaro Urbano, Leila Hassan, Ethan Hayes-Chute, Colleen Heslin & Les Ramsay, John Holten, Ada Van Hoorebeke, Mirak Jamal, Valentina Karga, David Keating, Jesi Khadivi, Bob Kil, Nuri Koerfer, Phanos Kyriacou, Clémence de La Tour du Pin, Lindsay Lawson, Hanne Lippard, Dafna Maimon, Zora Mann, Josep Maynou, Michele Di Menna, Constanza Mendoza, Ad Minoliti, Marco Montiel-Soto, Nest Design, Elizabeth Ravn, Dan Rees, Antoine Renard, Annika Rixen, Lorenzo Sandoval, Agnes Scherer, Anneli Schütz, Santiago da Silva, Paul DD Smith, The Society for Matriarchal World Domination (feat.
