Join us for a presentation of the book Nazi Billlionaires (Braunes Erbe), by David de Jong. The book investigates the dark Nazi history of some of Germany's richest business dynasties and how they have been able to maintain influence in the German and global economy.

Together with Hanno Hauenstein, the two journalists will discuss at ChertLüdde bookstore.

David de Jong is a correspondent in the Middle East, where he writes for the Dutch Financial Daily, among other publications. For the research and writing of Nazi Billionaires he reported from Berlin for four years. Before that, de Jong was a reporter at Bloomberg News in New York, where he wrote about hidden wealth, and in Amsterdam, where he wrote about European banking and finance. His work has also appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg Businessweek. De Jong was born and raised in Amsterdam and currently lives in Tel Aviv.



Hanno Hauenstein has been running the culture department of Berliner Zeitung since 2021 and specializes on, among other things, art and political debate. He studied philosophy and comparative literature between Berlin and Tel Aviv. He has published for Die Zeit, frieze Magazine and taz – Die Tageszeitung, among others. In 2015, he founded the German-Hebrew art and literary magazine aviv Magazin.
